THE THEORY TEST
At Gold Medal Driving School we give you any help you need to help you pass your Theory Test.
A lot of which can be done during your driving lessons.
The Theory Test is made up of two parts.
1:- Theory Questions
2:- Hazard Perception Test
You must pass this test before you can book a practical test.
To pass you must get the required scores on both parts.
If you fail to reach the score on one part, you will need to do the whole test again.
THEORY
The theory test is 50 multiple-choice questions on a wide range of subjects, which include:
* Alertness
* Attitude
* Safety and Your Vehicle
* Safety Margins
* Hazard Awareness
* Vulnerable Road Users
* Other Types of Vehicle
* Vehicle Handling
* Motorway Rules
* Rules of the Road
* Road & Traffic Signs
* Documents
* Accidents
* Vehicle Loading
To pass you must score at least 43 out of 50.You will get your result at the end.
Documents to take with you:
You must take your appointment letter and provisional license (both parts)If you do not have a new style license then photographic identification will be needed as well as your provisional license.Failure to take these documents will mean your test will not go ahead.

HAZARD PERCEPTION
Taken alongside the theory test. This part consists of 14 short video clips in which you must identify approaching hazards as quickly as possible.
There is one hazard to spot in 13 of the clips and two hazards in 1 of the clips. There is no clue which one has the 2 hazards in. So it is important that you register every hazard you see.
Each clip is worth between 1 and 5 points depending on how soon you spot the hazard.
To pass this part of the test you need to score 44 points
If you pass both tests you get a certificate - you now have up to 2 years to pass your practical driving test.
